Our Curriculum
At Kharistar, our teachers play a vital role in your child's growth and development. We form strong relationships with each child to help them become active researchers and problem solvers who embrace their individual strengths and work to understand their thinking. Community is at the core of our approach, and learning happens at individual, small group, and whole group levels.
Reggio Emilia Approach
We incorporate the Reggio Emilia approach, which explores the natural curiosity and creativity of each child. Children and teachers become active researchers and problem solvers, working together in a learning community to embrace opportunities of interest. This approach also considers parents as significant persons in the learning process, and we have several parent engagement programs termly to ensure the school and home work together as a team.
Montessori Approach
The Montessori approach emphasizes providing a prepared environment that is tidy, pleasing in appearance, simple, and real. Each element exists for a reason to help in the development of the child. Our prepared environment offers children opportunities to commit to interesting and freely chosen work.
Waldorf Approach
Waldorf education is independent and inclusive, upholding the principles of freedom in education. This approach is achieved through art, dance, and fun activities. The learning process engages head, heart, and hands—thinking, feeling, and doing. y.
Story Time
Story time is a great way to encourage language and literacy, along with cognitive and social-emotional growth. Every term, we carefully select books to freshen up the classroom selection. .
Hybrid Curriculum
We combine the Ghana Education Service and the USA curriculum, giving us a unique curriculum. The three approaches adopted by Kharistar—Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf—provide a comprehensive education.
Comprehensive Reading Program
Developing early literacy skills makes it easier for children to learn to read. We employ a comprehensive reading program using phonics instruction.
Circle Time
Circle time helps "calibrate" toddlers for the day and brings them together for social interaction and effective communication
Counseling Services
Kharistar has counseling services with a head in Mrs. Gloria Agbo, who is a professional counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association. The counseling service provides free and confidential therapy to our students and staff.

Preschool
Our preschool program supports your child's growth in natural, innovative ways. We celebrate initiative, thinking, learning, creating, and doing.
Elementary School
Our elementary school is the main point of delivery of primary education. Primary education is the foremost and basic right of every child. At Kharistar, we have a comprehensive hybrid curriculum (USA & Ghana).
Middle School
Our middle school (Junior High School) prepares our learners adequately for Senior High School. Here, learners are groomed holistically to be prepared for life.
Health and Safety
The safety and health of our stars are paramount to us. We maintain a safe, healthy school environment with high hygienic protocols and nurses on site.
Meals
We provide hygienic meals prepared with the health and well-being of our learners in mind. These are balanced diets with fruits.
